Courrèges and Dries Van Noten take contrasting routes for SS27
Drew Henry reset Courrèges with colourful, relaxed designs while Julian Klausner brought cinematic glamour to Dries Van Noten.
FashionNetwork reports that Drew Henry’s first collection for Courrèges marked a decisive move away from Nicolas di Felice’s sleek, body-conscious interpretation of the label. The 50-look Spring/Summer 2027 presentation used vivid orange, red, yellow, green and blue, alongside logos, geometric details and lightweight foam. Its relaxed wardrobe included roomy shorts, open shirts, towelling trousers and casual outerwear. Accessories, including redesigned handbags, PVC hats, colourful shoes and sunglasses, will be important as the Artémis-owned brand seeks an economic turnaround after its debt was bailed out in 2025.
At Dries Van Noten, Puig-owned since 2024, Julian Klausner presented fluid clothes combining floral, animal and abstract prints with embroidery, brocade, tassels and crystals. Faux film posters, stars and blurred spray effects supplied a Hollywood-inspired narrative, while bags, gloves and embellished footwear broadened the commercial offer. The collections show two different strategies: Courrèges is reconnecting with its colourful heritage, while Dries Van Noten is extending its established mix of print, craft and glamour.
