Milan’s Spring/Summer 2027 shows revive lingerie, skirts and early-2000s style

Milan’s latest collections update workwear while bringing visible lingerie, transparent layers and nostalgic prints back into focus.

The Zoe Report identifies lingerie styling, skirts and sheer clothing among the strongest messages from Milan’s Spring/Summer 2027 collections. Bras appeared beneath tailoring, dresses and simple skirt combinations, while slips and translucent layers extended the underwear-inspired direction. Prada gave skirts a central role, using them as the defining element of many outfits rather than a supporting piece.

Workwear also moved away from restrained, uniform shapes. Jil Sander, Tod’s and Marni introduced shorter jackets, cropped trousers and more unexpected colour combinations, while looser proportions gave way to neater silhouettes. At the same time, leopard print, shimmer and abbreviated hemlines revived early-2000s references at houses including Gucci and Roberto Cavalli. Sheer pieces ranged from transparent bottoms to lightly see-through dresses, offering retailers several levels of wearability rather than one fixed interpretation of the trend.
