Demna Defines His Gucci Direction With Spring 2027 Collection

Gucci’s Spring/Summer 2027 show presented Demna’s broader brand vision through retail-inspired staging, distinct character types and updated house codes.

Gucci staged its Spring/Summer 2027 show in Milan inside a full-scale representation of an imagined flagship store, featuring marble columns, display cases and clothing rails. Who What Wear reported that the concept was designed to preview the aesthetic of Gucci stores under creative director Demna. The collection, titled “The Store”, was split between menswear and womenswear and marked the designer’s clearest statement yet of his direction for the house.

The womenswear line continued the character-based approach introduced with “La Famiglia”. Its archetypes included the Rebellious Aristocrat, the Snob and the Eccentric, expressed through power tailoring, pencil skirts, cut-out dresses, fur coats, knitwear, shirts and leggings. Accessories extended the exercise in continuity and change: the horsebit appeared on bags, footwear, belts and outerwear, alongside new silhouettes and established styles such as the GG Marmont and Ophidia.

The presentation matters commercially because it connected Gucci’s Italian heritage with a proposed future retail environment. At the same time, prominent model casting and familiar archive products gave the new creative direction visibility while retaining recognisable points of entry for customers.
